Chicago Police Officer Luis Huesca shot, killed while off duty and returning home from shift

The first happened just after 5:30 p.m. in the 5400 block of South Ingleside Avenue in Hyde Park.
He faces charges, including aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and reckless discharge of a firearm.
The ages of the victims range between 19 and 42.
Fire officials said crews arrived just before 4:30 a.m. to a call about a car that had crashed into a residence in the 900 block of Balsam Lane.
Chicago fire officials said it started around 3 a.m. at a one-and-a-half-story home at 64th and Carpenter and spread to a neighboring house.
ISP did not release the ages and genders of the victims.
Donnell Payne, 35, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with one felony count of attempted first-degree murder, one felony count of aggravated battery with discharge of a firearm, and one felony count of aggravated battery to a peace officer.
The crash caused extensive damage to the front of the home and a car that was in the driveway.
Chicago police said a 42-year-old man was hit in the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
