Snowfall running above normal for January
If it seems like it has been a snowy month and a snowy winter season - it has! We are running 5.6 inches above normal for snowfall in January and we are running 4.1 inches above normal for the season.

Callie Zanandrie grew up in Parker, Colorado. She studied journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder and meteorology at Mississippi State University. Sunday will be mostly cloudy and slightly cooler with daytime high temperatures in the mid 40s.
It will be a gorgeous start to the weekend with daytime high temperatures in the 50s. We will see increasing clouds throughout the day and dry conditions in the metro area.
Snow totals will vary, but most neighborhoods in the Denver metro area will get a dusting of snow. Areas east of I-25, including DIA and east Aurora could see 1 to 2 inches of accumulation.
We begin the workweek with sunshine across the Front Range. High temperatures make it back to the upper 40s and then on Tuesday the mild temperatures continue and we should reach into the low 50s, keeping Denver a few degrees above average.
A huge atmospheric river of moisture will dump feet of snow in the mountains over the weekend along with a blast of snow for Denver and eastern Colorado on Monday.
Today is a First Alert Weather Day for the dangerous cold weather.
We saw a drastic temperature drop on Wednesday at Denver International Airport.
The snow is moving out, but the cold will stick around. In many places the roads are still icy and snow packed.
An arctic cold front will arrive later today bringing cold, snow and wind to the state.
Today, will be a couple of degrees warmer compared to yesterday with daytime highs in the upper 30s throughout the front range.
To wrap up the weekend temperatures will run nearly 10 degrees above normal in the Denver metro area.
Today, daytime high temperatures will be in the upper 40s. We will have mostly sunny skies and dry conditions.
The dry and quiet weather will continue through the rest of your weekend and into early next week.
