Pence distances himself from Jan. 6 riots

Former Vice President Mike Pence has not yet addressed last week's public hearings on the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol. Former President Donald Trump slammed his vice president over the weekend for certifying the 2020 election results. CBS News' congressional correspondent Scott MacFarlane has more on this week's hearings and CBS News' chief election and campaign correspondent Robert Costa joins Vlad Duthiers and Anne-Marie Green for more on the divide over the Jan. 6 riots in the Republican Party.

"Pressure campaign" focus of Jan. 6 committee

The House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is holding its third day of public hearings this afternoon. The panel is set to focus on former President Donald Trump’s attempts to pressure Vice President Mike Pence into changing the results of the 2020 election. Dale Carpenter, a law professor at the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University, spoke with CBS News' Errol Barnett and Elaine Quijano about the constitutionality of Trump's so-called “pressure campaign” on Mike Pence.

January 6 committee posts new footage

The House select committee investigating the January 6 riot has posted new footage it says shows Georgia Republican Rep. Barry Loudermilk giving a tour of the Capitol one day before the attack. The committee says a participant in that tour, who was seen photographing hallways and staircases, marched on the Capitol and threatened lawmakers the next day. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killions joins CBS News' Errol Barnett and Elaine Quijano to discuss the video and what to expect at Thursday's hearing.
