The enhancement project of $5,793,063 was awarded to Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. with its headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The money comes, in part, from federal funding, the transportation authority says.
The gates are expected to be installed early next year.
The transit agency will test full-size gates on the Market-Frankford Line, at the 13th Street and 34th Street stations.

SEPTA is hitting the brakes on its plan to expand rail service to King of Prussia.
