It happened just after 11 a.m. Saturday near Fort Tryon Park. Police say the suspect fled on a moped.
The NYPD says a 39-year-old man was trying to enter his house when a gunman confronted him, and they started to fight.
The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with broken ribs, cuts and bruises. The incident was caught on video.
Police say officers responded to call about a large group fighting at 95th Avenue and 120th Street.
