Darren Collison had 28 points and seven assists, and the Los Angeles Clippers didn't miss a beat with Blake Griffin out with a back injury in a 114-104 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night. Love Triple-Double Lifts Wolves Over Jazz 121-104

Kevin Love had 37 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for his first career triple-double to help the Minnesota Timberwolves cruise past the Utah Jazz 121-104 Saturday night. Minnesota was again playing without starters Nikola Pekovic (ankle) and Kevin Martin (finger), but Love filled the void, keeping one step ahead of the Jazz through the game. He compiled all his statistics in 32 minutes to earn a spot on the bench for the final nine minutes of the Wolves' third runaway win against the Jazz this season.

Adelman Returns To Wolves After Missing Last Game

Minnesota Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman has returned to the team for the final game before the NBA All-Star break. Adelman said Wednesday before the Timberwolves hosted Denver that his wife, Mary Kay, had "a little problem" that he had to tend to. Adelman declined to be more specific but said the situation was "fine." She has suffered from seizures in the past, and Adelman missed 11 games last season to be with her during a particularly difficult stretch. Adelman missed the game Monday night against Houston and practice Tuesday.

Timberwolves Need Their Groove Back, And Fast

The Minnesota Timberwolves would probably have to go 20 and 10, or maybe even 22 and 8 for the rest of the way to make the playoffs. The task is again becoming daunting, and forward Corey Brewer is painfully aware. "We need a win before All-Star break. We got a lot of injuries, man," Brewer said. "It's tough when you have injuries." They are indeed a team riddled with current injuries, and frustrated by another sub-par season. Healthy or not, the Wolves cannot get stops on defense.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 16 of his 26 points in the second half and Wesley Matthews added 21 to help the Portland Trail Blazers hold off the injury-depleted Minnesota Timberwolves 117-110 Saturday night. Aldridge had six points during Portland's game-deciding 13-1 run in the fourth quarter. Corey Brewer led Minnesota with 26 points and Ricky Rubio scored a career-high 25 for the Wolves, who were without All-Star Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Martin.
