Jason Pominville and Charlie Coyle scored 57 seconds apart early in the third period to break open a defensive standoff and lift the Minnesota Wild to a 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night. The teams had combined for only 28 shots when Pominville collected Mikko Koivu's pass in the crease and pushed it past a helpless Ray Emery 3:52 into the third period. On the ensuing shift, Coyle tapped a rebound off Jared Spurgeon's slap shot into an empty corner at 4:49.

Ryan O'Reilly scored the only goal in the shootout, Semyon Varlamov stopped 35 shots and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Minnesota Wild 3-2 on Saturday night. Gabriel Landeskog and Nathan MacKinnon had a goal apiece to help the Avalanche sweep the home-and-home series with the Wild. Giguere Wins 6th Straight As Avs Beat Wild

Gabriel Landeskog had a goal and two assists, Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 27 saves to set a franchise record with his sixth straight win to start a season, and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Minnesota Wild 3-1 on Friday. Jan Hejda and Nathan MacKinnon also scored for the Avs, who won for the fourth time in their past five games. Dany Heatley scored his fourth goal in six games for Minnesota and Zach Parise returned ahead of schedule from a foot injury. Parise — Minnesota's leading scorer — was supposed to be out 2 to 3 weeks after blocking a shot with his left foot on Monday, but skated during warmups and felt good enough to play.

Steen Scores 2 In Blues' 3-0 Win Over Wild

Alexander Steen scored twice, and Jaroslav Halak made 22 saves to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 3-0 win over the Minnesota Wild on Monday. Steen has 19 goals this season, one behind Washington's Alex Ovechkin for the NHL lead. Vladimir Sobotka also scored for the Blues, who are 9-1-1 in their last 11 and 12-2-1 in the last 15. They have won six straight against Minnesota by a combined 20-7. The Wild were shut out for the first time this season and lost only their second game in the last eight. Minnesota (15-6-4) is still off to its best start with 34 points in its first 25 games.

Charlie Coyle scored in the fourth round of the shootout to give the Minnesota Wild a 3-2 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. Coyle deked before beating Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec. Minnesota is 15-5-4 and has won six of its past seven games and is 9-1-1 in November. The loss extended Winnipeg's losing streak to four games (0-2-2). It was the Jets' eighth shootout of the season and third loss. Mikko Koivu also scored on Pavelec in the shootout. Bryan Little beat Niklas Backstrom.

Niklas Backstrom made 33 saves in his first win of the season and the Minnesota Wild defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 5-3 on Saturday night in a rematch of their first-round playoff series. Wild Call Up Gustafsson To Back Up Backstrom

The Minnesota Wild have recalled goalie Johan Gustafsson from the AHL, after a lower-body injury that forced Josh Harding out of the last game after two periods. Gustafsson was 2-0 with a 1.99 goals against average in three games this season for the Iowa Wild. The sixth-round pick in the 2010 draft played in his native Sweden last season and has not appeared in an NHL game. He'll be the backup to Niklas Backstrom when the Wild play at Chicago Saturday. Coach Mike Yeo said after practice Friday that Harding was feeling better but won't travel to the game.

Brad Boyes and Jonathan Huberdeau scored in a shootout, lifting the Florida Panthers over the Minnesota Wild 2-1 on Saturday night to snap a three-game losing streak. Boyes' backhander went through the legs of goalie Josh Harding for the winner. Huberdeau beat Harding on the stick side for the first shootout goal. Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu were turned aside by Panthers goalie Tim Thomas in the shootout. Aleksander Barkov scored in regulation for Florida, and Thomas made 31 saves.

Steven Stamkos scored a tiebreaking goal with 5:04 left in the third period and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Minnesota Wild 3-1 on Thursday night. Pominville, a former Sabres captain, scored the winning goal in the Minnesota Wild's 2-1 victory over the winless Sabres on Monday night. "It tops off a pretty emotional day in a great way," said Pominville, who played his first game in Buffalo since he was traded to Minnesota last April for center Johan Larsson, Rochester goalie Matt Hackett, a first-round pick that was used on defenseman Nikita Zadorov and a second-round selection. "So many good memories in this building. It's nice to get another one."
