Chicago Police shot and killed a man while responding to a stabbing in the South Austin neighborhood, and the person who was attacked in the stabbing was also critically injured during the shooting. CBS 2's Tara Molina reports.
The Fire Department called a 2-11 response for extra equipment and manpower for the fire at the old R. Nathaniel Dett Elementary School.
Photos from the scene showed smoke pouring from the shuttered school.
There were no injuries in the fire. Information about the cause was not immediately available.

Preliminary investigation indicated that the victim was in an argument with another man prior to the stabbing.
