James Higginbotham was found dead in a mountainous area outside Kyoto by a volunteer search-and-rescue group, his mother said.
James "Weston" Higginbotham went missing one week ago while on a family vacation in Japan.
Dallas PD said the boy was last seen around 5 p.m. in the 100 block of Templecliff Drive and issued a local Amber Alert at about 10:50 p.m.
At about 11:15 a.m., the Celina Police Department posted on social media about the missing child, asking for the public's help in locating him.
