While new unemployment claims in Texas have ticked upward in recent weeks, many out-of-work Texans said they're struggling to get through to the Texas Workforce Commission.
"The volume is unbelievable," said IRS Special Agent in Charge Mark Pearson. "This is historically the greatest amount of fraud we've ever seen."
As business begin apply for the second round of COVID-19 relief funding, federal investigators continue to uncover alleged fraud from the first round of loans.
"Our lives are not disposable and we deserve medical treatment just as much as anyone else during a pandemic," said Laura Halvorson, a former Mesquite school teacher with muscular dystrophy.
The federal team made 22-findings including safety issues with the incident investigation, repairs, incident reporting, integrity management and methane detection, an odor fade issue.

"Stimulus payments for millions of TurboTax customers affected by the IRS error will be deposited starting today, January 8th," a TurboTax spokesperson said in a statement.
