She also won a New York State Broadcasting Award for her live field anchoring during major flooding in Watkins Glen, N.Y. and served as a panelist in the 2014 congressional debate.
Marissa's next stop was in Buffalo, working for WIVB where she served as both weekend morning and evening news anchor for four years. She covered everything from wild winter weather to politics. She was a part of the Emmy-award-winning team for storm coverage.
She joined the CBS family in April of 2019 as a reporter and fill-in anchor at KOVR, the CBS affiliate in Sacramento, Calif. She was recognized for her reporting for her daily investigations, state politics and covering wildfires.

An internal memo revealed Lurie began experiencing service disruptions early on Wednesday, and as a precaution, the hospital disabled its phone, email, and electronic medical record systems.
According to the Chicago Fire Department, the firefighter was shot multiple times around 5:30 a.m.
"We are working as fast as we can to identify the problem so we can fix it," Village President Fitzgerald Roberts said.
Police are investigating and have not confirmed if the robberies are connected.
The contracts for a total of 49 charter schools in Chicago will be up for vote by the Chicago Board of Education Wednesday.
The team's lease at Guaranteed Rate Field runs out in 2029.
Bullets hit at least one car in the westbound lanes just before 3:30 a.m., and more than two dozen shell casings were left behind, police said.
"This was a brutal and premeditated crime," U.S. District Judge Matthew Kennelly said in handing down the sentence.
Police said four men in their 20s armed with revolvers and semi-automatic handguns shouted "Give me everything, don't move or I'll shoot!" in each of the robberies.
Service had been suspended for several hours between 35th/Archer and Ashland.
Robert Crimo III's attorneys suggested pushing the trial back until February 2025, while prosecutors suggested having the trial in September or October of this year.
The shootout happened as officers were responding to a burglary attempt at the Prada store on Walton Street, just west of Michigan Avenue.
During a court appearance on Friday, Robert Crimo III, 23, told the judge he is reappointing a public defender.
