Expect sunny, clear skies this weekend ahead of new storm system in DFW

Jeff joined CBS 11 and TXA 21 in December 2010. He is the senior Meteorologist on staff and can be seen covering various shifts across the week or on the weekend evenings. He also serves as one of the primary reporters for the CBS series "Climate Connection". Jeff visits area schools weekly as part of the Weather on Wheels program.
Born in Lubbock, Jeff spent most of his childhood in Tennessee. He holds a degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Austin as well as a bachelor's degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State. His master's degree in science education comes from the University of Missouri.
Jeff's broadcast career spans over 35 years. Jeff and his wife Fawn (a chiropractor in Colleyville) have two sons. The oldest is serving in Alaska on the USCGC Alex Haley in the Bering Sea. The youngest is finishing up high school and plans for a career in the Coast Guard as a marine biologist.

Tuesday and Wednesday are First Alert Weather Days as the threat of storms increases across the area.
The first round of possible strong storms hits our western counties along a dryline Tuesday night.
A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for Sunday.
Storms could start showing up in western counties by Friday late afternoon and evening.
North Texas started off on the cooler side Wednesday morning, with a few spots dipping down into the mid-40s.
The First Alert Weather Team is monitoring the potential of First Alert Weather days for Saturday and Sunday.
Storm chances start late Friday and run into Sunday.
There is also a risk of severe weather late Saturday night as a dryline stalls over the Metroplex.
As for Sunday, temperatures will climb in the 80s and gusty winds up to 25 mph will be possible ahead of an advancing front.
An abundance of sunshine combined with a southerly wind will allow highs to climb into the 80s.
A wind advisory covers all of North Texas. It continues through 9 p.m. Wednesday.
A red flag warning is in effect for counties to the west of Dallas-Fort Worth.
Though Sunday started off cool, the afternoon highs will top out seasonably in the upper 60s and lower 70s.
Red flag warnings were just south of us on Saturday. We could easily see these warnings return by Tuesday or Wednesday.
