North Texas man receives life sentence for murdering wife and stepdaughter

Three Johnson County firefighters have been injured after a roof collapsed on top of them during a house fire Wednesday near Alvarado.
Sources within the department said FIFA has requested a large law enforcement presence.
The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the business in the 5200 block of Mansfield Highway.
The fire was so intense that it burned through one of the fire department's hoses.
David Polley, 67, is charged with collision involving death. Police have not yet detailed what led them to Polley.
The incident occurred near Windmill Farms Boulevard and Reeder Road, where Brown Middle School is located.
The crash involved just a single vehicle, officials said.
"I'm at CareNow. They forgot about me. The alarm is going off and police are on the way. #CareLater"
The city said a suspect was identified and no incendiary devices were found.
The woman and her unborn child are in stable condition.
Most of the animals died of smoke inhalation, officials said. They included birds, chickens, hamsters, dogs and cats.
He was treated by medical personnel at the scene and died shortly after their arrival.
The University of Texas, which won 39-31 over Arizona State, and Ohio State, which defeated Oregon 41-21, will be squaring off.
Police said there is no foul play suspected in the shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
