A pursuit late Saturday evening ended when the woman who led police on a chase drove into the ocean near Venice Beach.
The victim's condition is unknown.
One of the cars, a pickup truck, appeared to have flipped over in the crash, which happened at around 3 p.m. on westbound lanes of I-10 near the Hoover Street ramps.
Police say there have been 34 home burglaries in 35 days within Irvine city limits.
Deputies were called to the scene for reports that the man, who was allegedly armed with a metal stick, was harassing people at El Tio Tono Market on Pomeroy Street.
