Callie Zanandrie grew up in Parker, Colorado. She studied journalism at the University of Colorado Boulder and meteorology at Mississippi State University. Callie's first job out of school was at KBCI in Boise, Idaho. From Boise, Callie traded in her hiking boots for flip-flops and moved to Florida to work for WWSB. However, home was calling and after a year Callie moved back to Denver to work at a competitor. Callie also shifted gears for a time from broadcast news into non-scripted television and worked as a producer at High New Entertainment and Double Act Entertainment.

Thursday will be cold, wet and cloudy. Daytime highs will top out in the low 40s for the Denver metro area. That's close to 25 degrees cooler compared to Wednesday, when we topped out at 73 degrees.
Accumulating snow, high winds and fire weather will exist across Colorado.
The windy conditions will continue through lunchtime especially along the foothills and in northeastern Colorado, prompting a First Alert Weather Day through noon.
Summer heat returns today with temperatures climbing into the 90s.

Warmer and drier weather dominates most of Colorado today.
Severe thunderstorms are possible later today especially across the Eastern Plains. Damaging hail is the primary concern, but wind gusts 60-80 mph, localized flooding, and tornados are all possible.
Thanks to monsoon moisture we've had a very wet start to the week. Wednesday we have another chance for scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms.
