Powell remembered as groundbreaking figure

Colin Powell died from COVID-19 complications at age 84 amid a battle with the blood cancer multiple myeloma and other underlying conditions. Powell was the first Black secretary of state and also a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Hearings start for Biden's cabinet nominees

The Senate is kicking off a series of high-stakes confirmation hearings Tuesday for President-elect Joe Biden's top cabinet nominees. Lawmakers will question his picks to lead the Departments of State, Treasury, Homeland Security and Defense along with the director of national intelligence.
