Unrest in Cuba and Haiti sparks U.S. migration concerns

The U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security are warning asylum seekers in Cuba and Haiti against traveling to the U.S. by sea. In this fiscal year alone, the Coast Guard says it has intercepted more than 550 Cubans attempting to enter U.S. waters. A look at Biden's presidency so far

Tuesday marks six months since President Biden's inauguration. The president marked the occasion by meeting with his Cabinet members where he touted his administration's response to the pandemic, noting deaths from COVID are down 90% compared to six months ago. CDC data also shows more than half of Americans have received at least one dose of the vaccine. But Mr. Biden also acknowledged his administration has some work to do on other issues. Federal judge orders end to new DACA applications

President Biden is urging Congress to take action on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program after a federal judge in Texas ruled DACA illegal. The judge's ruling bars the Biden administration from approving any new applications for the program, however, the nearly 650,000 people currently protected under DACA will not be impacted. U.S. unveils task force to curb ransomware

Federal officials are looking to crack down on ransomware attacks that are attacking critical U.S. infrastructure by implementing a new multi-agency task force. The announcement comes just days after the notorious Russian-linked ransomware group, REvil, suddenly vanished from the internet. Families set to receive child tax credit payments

Chicago police superintendent meets with Biden on gun violence

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown was among several leaders who met with President Biden on Monday to discuss a strategy to reduce gun violence.
