The New York Jets picked offensive tackle Armand Membou in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, which wrapped up Saturday.
The Jets took Membou, a star right tackle for the Missouri Tigers, with the seventh overall pick as New York looks to solidify its offensive line for quarterback Justin Fields. Coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey turned to Fields after cutting ties with Aaron Rodgers.
The 2025 draft was held at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Who did the New York Jets draft?
OT Armand Membou, Missouri
With their first pick and the seventh pick overall, the Jets selected Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou. Membou started 12 games at right tackle last season and was a second-team All-SEC selection. He'll help provide protection for Fields.
TE Mason Taylor, LSU
In the second round, the Jets picked Louisiana State University tight end Mason Taylor. Taylor is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame DE/LB Jason Taylor, who played for the Jets in 2010.
CB Azareye'h Thomas, Florida State
The Jets took Florida State cornerback Azareye'h Thomas in Round 3. Thomas had a career-high 52 tackles and started 12 games for the Seminoles last season.
WR Arian Smith, Georgia
New York selected Georgia wide receiver Arian Smith in the Round 4. Smith led the Bulldogs 817 receiving yards on 48 receptions and scored four touchdowns last season.
S Malachi Moore, Alabama
New York traded up for another fourth round pick and drafted Alabama safety Malachi Moore, a four-year starter for the Crimson Tide who was named first team All-SEC last season.
LB Francisco Mauigoa, Miami
In Round 5, the Jets selected Miami linebacker Francisco Mauigoa, one of the Hurricanes' top defensive players in 2024.
DE Tyler Baron, Miami
The Jets traded up a second time on Day 3 and drafted Miami edge rusher Tyler Baron with the last pick in the fifth round. Baron, a fifth-year senior in 2024, was tied for the team lead in tackles for a loss and sacks in 2024. He transferred to Miami for one season after playing for Tennessee.
The new Jets brain trust is trying to improve a roster that went 5-12 and finished in third place in the AFC East last season. They're also trying and snap the NFL's longest active playoff drought, which now stands at 14 consecutive seasons.
Last year, New York drafted offensive tackle Olu Fashanu in the first round. They later picked running back Braelon Allen and quarterback Jordan Travis. Click here for a recap of the Jets 2024 draft class.
