Decision time
If the vice president waits much longer to enter the 2016 presidential race, he could miss his chance. He is drawing very close to very real deadlines that could effectively shut the door on the opportunity to run, that is, the filing deadlines for appearing on state caucus and primary ballots.
Hacked
The personal emails of two of the highest-ranking national security officials have been hacked; CIA Director John Brennan and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson have both had personal information pilfered. An anonymous hacker claiming to be a highschool student has been bragging about breaking into the accounts.
Police shooting
Police in Florida are investigating the deadly shooting of a Delray Beach city employee by a police officer. The 31-year-old man moonlighted as musician and was on his way home from a gig last weekend when his car broke down. Within hours he was dead.
Clock kid
The stars came out for Astronomy Night at the White House, an event hosted by President Obama to celebrate space. There were scientists, teachers and astronauts in the crowd, but there was also one special guest, who received a personal invite from the president after his homemade clock landed him in handcuffs.
