The National Weather Service says severe thunderstorms that pushed across southeastern Michigan produced several tornadoes, downed trees and power lines, and damaged homes and businesses.

It was just a year ago that Dexter experienced a tornado and emergency officials had to get the word out and deal with the extensive damage.
The new twister is just one of several created by a storm system that swept through the nation's midsection Sunday and into Monday.
"There are a lot of kids in this building who were impacted by the tornado, a lot of adults in this building who were impacted by the tornado ... it makes us take it more seriously and makes us reflect on last year," said Jamie Bronson.
