The 17-year-old was arrested by members of the Chicago police and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on Wednesday in the 2600 block of West 94th Street in Evergreen Park.
He was identified as the suspect who shot another 19-year-old man in the 7000 block of South Damen Avenue.
Chicago police said around 1 a.m. on July 4, 2024, in the 6200 block of South Laflin Street, a 34-year-old man was outside when he was shot in the neck by someone who fled the scene on foot.
Two people bailed out of the car. One was taken into custody soon afterward, but the other remained at large as of just after 5 p.m.
The pursuit was under way on Ada Street just south of 61st Street and on nearby blocks late Tuesday. Kris Habermehl reports from CBS Skywatch.
Police said in each of the robberies, a group of three men wearing black hoodies and ski masks walked up to their victims with a handgun and demanded their vehicle.
Joshua Mims, 37, is charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated arson.
