Millions of these vaccines are in the process of getting shipped across the country.
Dr. Kat is both a viral social media star and an epidemiologist at UIC. She sat down with CBS 2 to break down who can and when to get the new booster.
The clinics will be held Saturday at Truman College and Malcolm X College, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Federal health officials say thousands of updated booster shots are already being shipped around the country.
"This vaccine gives us a chance to get ahead of the virus. It helps us protect individuals from the variants currently circulating in the U.S."
White, 88, suffered mild symptoms of the virus, and had been working from home while quarantining after testing positive for COVID-19 on Aug. 24.
