A wide-open election and 14 candidates on the ballot for mayor haven't been enough to get most voters out to the polls in Chicago this Election Day, and officials expect turnout could set a record low on Tuesday.
The total price tag for the Chicago election: 15 million dollars. Given turnout, that's about $31 for each ballot cast.
The polls are open, and Chicago voters are casting their ballots in the most crowded mayor's race in modern history, a contest that's all but certain to end with a runoff election in April.
With three candidates on the ballot, its possible no one wins the 14th Ward race outright on Tuesday.
The surprising survey, taken over the weekend, shows Preckwinkle, Daley and Lightfoot tied at 14 percent.
