The Dallas Mavericks have signed No. 1 overall draft pick Cooper Flagg to his four-year rookie contract.
"We're in a win now mode and Cooper adds to that," said Mavs GM Nico Harrison.
To wash it down, Bedford's Turning Point Brewery created a beer inspired by his favorite drink, blue Gatorade.
Cooper Flagg will join a Dallas Mavericks roster already loaded with talent, including Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving.
The new contract will align Irving with co-star Anthony Davis, who joined the Mavericks in the seismic trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Lakers in February.
Kidd has been the head coach of the Mavs since 2021 and led the Mavericks to the 2024 NBA Finals.
The NBA is going back to Mexico City next season, with the Mavericks and Pistons set to play a regular-season game there on Nov. 1.
Doncic said it was "unbelievable" to play with a teammate like James, and get to see what James does to prepare for the game.
