Steven Yablonski

Steven Yablonski is a digital content producer for CBS Miami and the South region.

He began his journalism career in 2009 at WFSB, the CBS affiliate in Connecticut, where he covered major local and international stories including the trial of the men convicted in the Cheshire home invasion, the Boston Marathon bombing, and the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown.

After leaving Connecticut, Steven worked at both WCVB and WFXT in Boston. There, he covered the trial of the Boston Marathon bomber, the trials and death of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez, the COVID-19 pandemic, and other major stories. While at WFXT, Steven and the digital team earned both a regional and national Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Social Media for their work keeping the public informed during mass evacuations caused by a series of gas explosions on the North Shore.

In 2021, Steven joined FOX Weather, where he helped cover numerous national and international stories, including hurricanes Ian, Helene, and Milton; severe weather outbreaks; earthquakes; volcanoes; and wildfires that scorched Southern California and Maui. He also reported on a wide range of nature and environmental issues, such as the declining North Atlantic right whale population, cold-stunned sea turtles, and other marine life.
