Evacuation warning lifted for vegetation fire in Dobbins

The fire was located near Indiana Ranch Road, north of Foresythe Road. It was estimated to have burned less than an acre, but had a moderate rate of spread.
Crews were called to the home and found a woman and a 5-year-old child. The woman was dead, and the child was taken to the hospital for evaluation, officials said.
Citrus Heights police said there is a large police presence on the 8000 block of Butternut Drive.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 struck near Cloverdale, and it was immediately followed by a magnitude 2.5 quake, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The fire was located in south Nevada County near Highway 49 and Combie Road, Cal Fire said.

Around 3 p.m., officers were on patrol near Market and Jones streets when police say they heard gunshots. The patrolling officers began investigating and soon found someone who had been shot and was seriously injured.
Just before 4 p.m., officers tried to pull over a vehicle near Thornton Road and West Hammer Lane. Police did not say what led to the traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop and led officers on a chase.
Officers heard gunshots just before 3 p.m. while on patrol near Market and Jones streets and soon found a person who had been shot, police said.
A vegetation fire in Sonora prompted evacuations Monday afternoon, the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office said.
Firefighters have fully contained the Dove Fire in Tuolumne County, bringing an end to a weeklong firefight that prompted mandatory evacuations near Sonora and Jamestown and led to the arrest of a man accused of starting the blaze.
The shooting happened at a party in unincorporated Morgan Hill that had been promoted through social media, the sheriff's office said.
Named the Vargas Fire, it has burned 10 acres as of 2:30 p.m.
A crash temporarily closed Highway 50 at Ice House Road Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
