Chicago police said officers responded to a person shot and found two men, 31 and 34, inside a parked car struck by gunfire.
According to police, the thieves drove up in a white Kia SUV in three during three of the reported burglaries.
It's happening along the Chicago Riverwalk between Wells Street and Franklin Street.
The three left the store without paying for the items, at which time they were arrested by officers who were already waiting for them outside the store.
Police say the pair were shopping inside one of the stores when the man's gun accidentally went off.
Members of the Great Lakes Regional Task Force arrested 20-year-old Jayyun Robertson on Tuesday, in the 12300 block of South Kostner Avenue in Alsip, Illinois.
The victim was shot in her right leg and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in good condition.
Michael Williams, 24, was arrested on Monday around 5:44 p.m., in the 700 block of East 79th Street.
Chicago police said officers responded to the scene and found the victims inside the second floor of the apartment with multiple stab wounds.
Emergency crews responded to Whiting Lakefront Park for a missing person last seen struggling in the water and going under the surface near the boat ramps.
Police say the offender, while armed with a handgun and wearing a mask, approached the two victims at the same time and stole an unknown amount of money and a cell phone.
Police say he was found unresponsive on the rocks of Promontory Point and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officers discovered the victim, identified as 43-year-old Tristan Meeks of Maywood, at the scene suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
