Facebook stock sinks after bad report

Facebook stock dropped more than 20 percent Wednesday night after the company missed Wall Street's expectations for its second-quarter earnings. CNET senior producer Dan Patterson spoke to CBSN about Facebook's future. Patterson also threw cold water on a report that Twitter is "shadow banning" Republican accounts from its search bar, saying, "There's no data to back this up," and, "Let's not chalk up to conspiracy what can be chalked up to incompetence and bugs."

Trump and EU easing trade tensions

President Trump and the European Union appear to be backing away from a trade war. Mr. Trump and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker agreed Wednesday to work toward eliminating tariffs, trade barriers and subsidies between the two economic giants. Ian Bremmer, Eurasia Group president and CBS News senior global affairs contributor, joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss why the tone has changed and how Mr. Trump's relationship with European leaders is still enormously damaged. He also addresses Mr. Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the reality of broken relations between the two nations.

Secret Trump recording raises legal questions

President Trump is blasting his former longtime lawyer, Michael Cohen, for releasing a secretly recorded conversation between the two men about an alleged payment involving a former Playboy model who says she had an affair with Mr. Trump. The president has denied that he had an affair, and CBS News has not verified the authenticity of the recording. CBS News legal analyst Rikki Klieman joined CBSN with more on the legal ramifications the president could face after the recording's release.
