The NYPD says while you're out enjoying the holiday season, thieves will be out looking for their next target.
It happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Amsterdam Avenue near West 148th Street.
The 61-year-old building manager was taken to a local hospital to be treated for serious head injuries.

Police say it took emergency response teams about 10 hours to remove 180 dogs and cats from the home.
The driver is facing multiple drunk driving-related charges.
The NYPD and Philadelphia Police are working together on tracking the suspect down.
