An Uber driver faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon Thursday after police say she stabbed a would-be passenger after an argument over car seat.
Police officers were called to the area of Cahuenga and Santa Monica boulevards just before 10 p.m. and found the two men who had been stabbed. One of the men had been stabbed up to five times, and the other at least twice, Los Angeles police Officer Mike Lopez said.
A man who was found unresponsive in Santa Fe Springs on Wednesday night was believed to have been stabbed to death, officials said.
Investigators say the suspect may have been injured during the attack and could have cuts to one or both of his hands. Witnesses told police they saw the suspect leaving a nearby parking lot east of the 57 Freeway in a black, 4-door sedan with black wheels and dark tinted windows.
The victim was a retired annuitant who had returned to the school to work in international student registration. It's unclear what the motive in the stabbing was.
The witness described a bloody scene.
