Police Investigating Double Stabbing In Altadena

ALTADENA (CBSLA)  --  Police are investigating a double stabbing in Altadena Wednesday evening.

The initial report said a hiker reportedly got into some kind of confrontation with a man who was originally described as homeless and or a transient. Police later discounted the fact the man was homeless.

The incident happened near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive, officials said.

Late Wednesday, authorities told CBS2/KCAL9 reporter Rachel Kim that two men were stabbed and both were transported to the nearby trauma center.

Officials said they got a number of 911 calls regarding two men that were in a physical fight.

When deputies arrived, they found two men with stab wounds.

Deputies said they were yet to determine if the two men knew each other, if the attack was random. where the men are from or what the fight was about.

While it was initially reported a stabbing victim was in critical condition, the condition of neither man is known, authorities said in an update.

A knife was recovered at the scene, Kim reported.

Officials said there were no outstanding suspects and no reason to be concerned.
