Benjamin Luong and a friend were trying to change a flat tire alongside the 405 in Torrance Sunday morning when they were hit and killed by a car.
The crash was reported at about 11 a.m. on Washington Boulevard at La Cienega Boulevard in Culver City.
The accident happened around 8 p.m. on Jamboree Road just north of Champion Way, according to Tustin Police Sgt. Andy Birozy.
The driver was the Scion's lone occupant.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
