In less than two weeks, every penny of the Paycheck Protection Program's $349 billion dollars has been spoken for. Business owners have detailed to CBS 2 how complicated and ever changing the application process was.
He said he's anxious to come back, not just to earn a living, but to also continue serving a neighborhood that needs every business it can hold on to.
"We don't know how many businesses are going to reopen fully. Some may not reopen."
The city's Small Business Resiliency Fund totals $100 million. It provides emergency loans of up to $50,000 to businesses with 50 employees or fewer, with 50% going to payroll. Around 6,500 have applied for their share.
"I just wanted to make one of them happy, make one of them smile. That was my only goal."
The wait for assistance could come as early as Friday, or perhaps a few weeks away.
