The ages of the victims range from 6 to 53.
A 19 and 20-year-old were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds in good condition.
The two children were not the only young people injured over the holiday weekend.
The shooting took place Sunday in Kenney, about two-and-a-half hours southwest of Chicago. Police believe the suspect is no longer in Kenney.

Police said officers responded to the 9900 block of South Ewing Avenue around 2:03 a.m. for a report of a person with a gun and saw a male and female in the area.
The man, described as being between 19 and 24, was outside in the 3800 block of South Wentworth Avenue in the Wentworth Gardens public housing development. Three unknown assailants fired shots, police said.
