A man who pushed a 79-year-old to the floor after robbing a Humboldt Park neighborhood liquor store Thursday has been linked to another West Side robbery that occurred earlier this year, police said.
The 39-year-old was crossing the street in the 1800 block of West Van Buren Street about 9:50 a.m. when he was struck by a black vehicle, causing him to drop his cell phone, police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said. A male got out of the vehicle and took the cell phone, then stabbed the victim in the elbow.
The shooting happened about 12:10 a.m. in the 4700 block of West Maypole Avenue, police said. The man was walking when two men approached and announced a robbery.
About 4:45 p.m., Trent James Keegan walked into the Super 8 at 577 Crystal Point Drive, jumped over the front counter and brandished a knife while demanding the cash from the motel clerk, according to a statement from Crystal Lake police.
