Portage police said around 7:40 p.m., officers responded to the home in the 6300 block of Monument Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance.
The victim's daughter, who also lives in the apartment, told police that her boyfriend had threatened to burn up the apartment earlier in the evening.
Reum was trapped in a wrecked pickup truck for six days after crashing off I-94 in Portage.
Over this past weekend, Reum also shared photos taken with his father and aunt on Facebook.
Beacon Health System announced Reum, of Mishawaka, Indiana, was released from the Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Tuesday.
As Reum takes a new turn in his recovery, we are also seeing a new view of his reunion with his rescuers. CBS 2’s Jermont Terry reports.
Reum met the fishermen who found him under Interstate 94 on Tuesday, Dec. 26 - and the firefighters and paramedics from the Portage Fire Department who rescued him.

"My surgery has gone well enough, and I'm healing strong enough from that to where I can start working on getting back into society," said Reum, who is recovering from having a leg amputated.
