Cook County Crime Stoppers offering $10,000 reward for information in South Side homicide

Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information about a deadly shooting on the city's  South Side earlier this week.

They said around 5:12 a.m. on Thursday, a 59-year-old man, identified as Ben Figgures, was found unresponsive in the 300 block of West 76th Street in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Chicago police said the victim was found with lacerations and trauma to his face. He was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

On Saturday, they released a photo of the suspect in connection with the homicide. The photo shows the suspect wearing a gray hoodie and ripped blue jeans.

Crime Stoppers is offering $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

They are advising the public that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and not to try to apprehend.
