Two violent robberies caught on camera have a Northwest Side neighborhood on edge. Suspects in masks and carrying guns not only robbed but punched defenseless people. Both of the attacks happened in broad daylight.
The robberies happened during the 1 p.m. hour in the Avondale, Belmont Gardens, Belmont Cragin, Austin, and Humboldt Park neighborhoods.
The robbers drove around, and looked for people walking, then got out of their SUV holding guns.
Police tell us they were spotted in a maroon Dodge Durango with the Illinois license plate DV39194.
One of the cars ended up on the train tracks and was struck by the train.
Three suspects jumped into Wilfredo Cintron and his son's ice cream truck and took all the cash they had, before taking off.
Police said three men armed with handguns would exit out of a vehicle, approach victims, and demand their personal property – including wallets, cash, and phones.
The robberies happened between 10 p.m. Wednesday night through 3 a.m. Thursday morning.
