The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new seasonal flu vaccine from Moderna that uses mRNA technology, the drugmaker announced.
The vaccine uses MRNA technology, which health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has called "unsafe and ineffective."
The Food and Drug Administration is refusing to consider Moderna's application for a new flu vaccine made with mRNA technology, the company said.
This is because fewer people are getting COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Trump administration has canceled $766 million awarded to Moderna to develop a vaccine against potential pandemic influenza viruses, including the H5N1 bird flu.
