Police said within nine days this month, three men were behind seven robberies in Englewood, Chicago Lawn, and Gage Park.
He was taken by the Chicago Fire Department to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest and was later pronounced dead.
There were two robberies in Englewood which the victims were trying to buy a dirt bike or motorcycle through Facebook Marketplace.
The robberies both happened Saturday, Jan. 20, a city block apart in Englewood.
in each incident, the thieves attempted to break in through the back doors of the buildings.
