Michael Jones, 62, has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated sexual assault in the 1985 death of Glenbard South High School student Kristina Wesselman.

Most recently, a man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen showed up at a Near West Side hospital early Monday. He was shot in the abdomen and was dropped off at the hospital, police said. Investigators could not immediately say where the shooting occurred.
Noe Pereda, 30, got into an argument with the 29-year-old man about 10:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of North Menard Avenue, according to Chicago Police. Pereda then pulled out a knife and stabbed him repeatedly in the torso, back and arm, police said.
