A major crisis is brewing for Chicago's public transit system, officials warned on Friday. The Regional Transportation Authority, which oversees the budgets for CTA, Metra, and Pace, is facing a $770 million budget shortfall next year, and warned if it's not addressed, the fallout could impact people across the city, whether they take public transit or not.
Officials warn that without state action, CTA, Metra, and Pace will face cuts.
Chicago police confirmed Tiara Lee-Roberts, 28, was charged with two felony counts of murder, including first-degree murder.
Several ambulances were called to the scene.
The crash happened within the past half hour at 79th Street, Stony Island Avenue, and South Chicago Avenue.
