A last-minute route change meant some people missed the chance to see his procession pass by. CBS 2's Sara Machi found people along the new path who said they were lucky to be in the right place at the right time to pay their respects.
Pelt died last Tuesday while battling a fire at a house on South Wallace Street in the West Pullman neighborhood. The 18-year CFD veteran was 49 years old. CBS 2's Tara Molina reports on his funeral.

Pelt died while fighting a fire in West Pullman, and was remembered and thanked by many for giving the ultimate sacrifice. CBS 2's Jermont Terry reports.
