As we celebrate Women's History Month, there's a new museum exhibit in Aurora honoring women in the military. “Hidden Warriors – The History of Women in the Military" at the Aurora Grand Army of the Republic Military Museum highlights the challenges women have faced and overcome while serving in the armed forces.

It was no surprise, but one western suburb earned the distinction of being one of the "Happiest Cities in America," according to Wallet Hub. The personal finance website named Aurora among the happiest cities in the country. Aurora is in 19th place.

Police say officers responded to Granger Middle School, located at 2721 Stonebridge Blvd, for a report of a suspicious person trespassing on school grounds.

"Here we are for years later, still surrounded by all of this pain, and now we're daily hearing of all these other communities that are experiencing similar events in their schools and in the streets," said former Henry Pratt employee Anita Lewis.
In west suburban Aurora, it was standing-room-only on Wednesday at a memorial ceremony marking the fourth anniversary of a deadly mass shooting at the Henry Pratt Company.
The man's family said the incident started with a fight that got out of control and brought on a 'mental health episode.'
Aurora police released portions of the 911 call and body camera footage of the police shooting of a 21-year-old man armed with knives on Feb. 5. The incident started with an argument between the man and his girlfriend that got out of control and brought on a "mental health episode," according to a family member. The family called 9-1-1.
"When officers arrived on the scene, they encountered the subject, holding the knives in the doorway of the home, threatening to kill everyone."
