Last night many saw 1-3" inches of fluff but a few spots south of Boston saw 4-5" in some very heavy snow bands.

Not since last Winter have we talked about three potential snowmakers in one week...but here we are half way through the Winter and we are finally getting some snow.
Boston just saw its biggest snowstorm of the season...1.4"...amazing how lame this Winter has been. Well this week looks to be somewhat interesting with two more chances of snow and normal January cold for a change.
Tomorrow will be the coldest day in nearly a year. When you wake up, given it's on the earlyside, it will likely be in the single digits north and west of Boston and very slim double digits to the south and east.
These last two days the weather has been very complicated and turbulent, we literally have seen it all. Well we are taking a turn for the benign, simply put, it's just going to be cold.

Today's high in Boston was 33 degrees making this only the fourth day with a sub-40 degree high temperature this month...pretty incredible when you think about it.
Last night around 2AM, the temp was close to 60 in many towns...truly remarkable...it's weather like that which has boosted December 2011 close to the all-time warmest Decembers on record.
Another wild night with low pressure sliding to our west and then north.
For you snow lovers, I wish I had better news but once again the lack of cold air is glaring and there simply won't be much snow from this moisture loaded storm.
Amazing to plot temps today...cold air remained dammed in Central and Northern New England through the evening with temps in the 50s in Boston and in the 30s just up the road where icing was an issue in many places.
It's payback time for Mother Nature.
A warmfront will pass thru early tomorrow morning allowing temps to soar to near 50 again.
Like Bing Crosby, many are very hopeful to get a little snow before December 25th. Well, the pattern is certainly about to turn more active and while there will be mild days, deeper cold won't be too far away.
