Autopilot, it is. Temperatures won't deviate far from the 50s for the next 7 days.
Temperatures aren't going to meander their way out of the 50s for several days in a row. A secondary shot of cool air spawned a few showers yesterday evening, and now, the cooler air is working its way into the region.
We are starting to sound like broken records - breezy and dry.
Dry and breezy just about sums up the entire Accuweather 7-day forecast. We are now 6.08" below normal in terms of precipitation since January 1, 2012.
We are running very low in the 'rain bucket'. Since January 1, 2012, we have only had 5.07" of precipitation, which is 5.99" below normal. For the month of March, we received 1.21" of precipitation, which is 3.11" below normal.
It's FRRRiday!!! It's going to be a beautiful day with highs near 50F!
What I mean by 'normal' is that the high temperatures will be sticking around the 50F degree mark, which is about average as we end out the month of March.
Temperatures will remain 'status quo' through the remainder of the work week. Highs will be near the average high of ~50F, give or take a degree or two.
With average highs near 50F and average lows near 35F, we are not that far off-track. However, last week's anomalous conditions led us into a false sense of reality as high temperatures were shattering records 'left-and-right'!
It's going to be a chilly start as we begin the last week of March. Highs will only top off in the lower and middle 40s today and tomorrow. That being said, it's not far from the average highs in the upper 40s to near 50F.
While Friday is not going to be a record-breaker, it is still going to be mild for late March
That's the countdown for temperatures as they skyrocket into the 80s for many cities and towns today!
Boston was just a couple of degrees shy of 70F yesterday while Worcester was just ONE degree shy of tying the record high of 77F. The temperature spread has been rather large due to the cool, onshore wind.
As of 1:14am this morning, it's officially Spring! That being said, our high temperatures for many cities and towns have been more on par with average high temps for mid-summer.
A backdoor cold front is on the way. We will reach our high temperatures earlier in the day due to this front and the onshore wind that will be the end result.
Yes, the cool, onshore wind has been 'ruling' the forecast as of late. Coastal communities have had the damp, cool wind keeping temperatures at bay since midweek.
Onshore winds this time of year bring us a tale of two stories in terms of our local forecast...warmer and sunnier to the west, cloudy and cooler to the east.
It's going to be a bright, sunshiny day inland, but a different story for the coastal plain where there will be more clouds and fog. Highs will reach 50-60F degrees (coolest coast) before a backdoor cold front starts to make its move this afternoon.
The Vernal Equinox is one week from today...March 20 @1:14am! The Vernal Equilux will be this Saturday, March 17 (St. Patrick's Day), which is the day with equal day/equal night...12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night.
Mother natures is giving us quite a ride! The 60s and 70s of yesterday are gone, and the 40s are moving in.
3-2-1... Blast off! That's how our temperature profile will look for today. We are starting in the 40s and even 50s this morning. Temperatures will head into 'record territory' this afternoon in the middle and upper 60s.
It's here! The 2-day warm-up that we've been 'selling' you since this past weekend.
14 days and counting until the Vernal Equinox, which is exactly at 1:14am on Tuesday, March 20.
There is a winter chill in the air, but that being said, it is still winter, astronomically-speaking. While average highs would be in the lower 40s for early March, we are only going to make it to the middle 30s this afternoon.
