Records also showed Monday that the number of people hospitalized in North Texas hospitals reached its highest level yet, 2,435.

The Texas Department of State Health Services on Wednesday also announced 200 new deaths and 8,585 virus hospitalizations.
Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins is advising residents to avoid crowds, including shopping crowds and not to have get-togethers in the home.
Judge Glen Whitley said he is relying on the advice of local medical professionals he trusts, as well as support from other residents who aren't speaking out during public meetings.
There is a cumulative total of 120,999 cases (PCR test), including 1,197 confirmed deaths after seven more were announced Tuesday.
Dallas County Health and Human Services reported 541 additional positive cases of COVID-19 on Monday, Nov. 23.
More doctors and nurses may still be needed as Texas rapidly accelerates toward 8,000 hospitalized COVID-19 patients for the first time since a deadly summer outbreak.
"These numbers (of new cases) appear to still be low due to lower than expected numbers from the state's electronic laboratory reporting system," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
"This is not the year... to have a great holiday gathering, a great outing at the bar, restaurant. It's just not the time," said Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.
"There is little reason to believe that if the full numbers were reported, they would be different than the trend we've been seeing for the last several days," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
As of Monday, Nov. 16 there are nearly 2,200 lab-confirmed Covid-19 patients hospitalized in the North Texas region.
So far, Texas leaders have given no indication of forthcoming restrictions to keep people from gathering and spreading the virus.
The Texas Department of State Health Services said that there were 7,083 people hospitalized in the state with COVID-19 as cases continue to rise.
"Now is the time to turn it around. The decisions you make today will determine the numbers in the coming days," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
The Texas Department of State Health Services is allocating an initial shipment of an emergency treatment for COVID-19 to be distributed to acute care hospitals as early as next week.
The 6,925 hospitalizations are the most Texas has counted since Aug. 12, according to reports by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
"As our numbers grow, our hospitals are filling and our healthcare heroes are becoming stretched and exhausted," said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
