After that, he went on to study journalism and public relations at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he contributed to the newspaper's sports podcast "Out of Bounds."
After getting his degree, Patrick went on to work in digital media for the Pittsburgh Penguins' ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers, and then the New Jersey Devils' AHL affiliate the Utica Comets.
