Crews were able to extinguish a greater alarm fire in Van Nuys Thursday night.
Police have no suspect in custody. The shooting was not associated with the university.
It is unclear if the suspect is armed or if there was anybody else inside the home.
Firefighters had to extricate the three victims from the car. Two of them were being airlifted to a local hospital.
The shooting happened as police patrolled the area of Mt. Vernon Avenue and 14th Street.
