Around 9:30 a.m., the Fire Department, police, and the U.S. Coast Guard were called to the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero for a person in distress.
Cal Fire said a Stockton man is suspected of setting fire to a Butte County resident's property after getting into a "heated argument" with them.
Police said that they received reports of an assault around 9:45 p.m., and that fire crews were first on scene on the 1700 block of South Avenue.
Around 11 p.m., police were called to the scene of a crash on Claus and Milnes roads.
